SAN GABRIEL – On December 6th, Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) honored eight outstanding individuals and organizations with the “Make a Difference” award for their dedication and commitment to improving the quality of life for residents in the community. ROSEMEAD – Today, Assemblymember Ed Chau (D- Monterey Park), in collaboration with the San Gabriel Valley Water Company and the American Water Company, gave out two hundred turkeys during the Sixth Annual “Operation Gobble” Turkey Giveaway. The event was held at Zapopan Park in the City of Rosemead.
MONTEREY PARK – Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) hosted a free workshop for local non-profit organizations in his district to provide the latest information on Federal and California laws regarding fundraising and reporting requirements.
MONTEREY PARK – Today, Assemblymember Ed Chau (D–Monterey Park) held a press conference in Monterey Park to discuss bills from his legislative bill package that will become new laws on January 1, 2019.
SAN FRANCISCO — Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed Assembly Bill (AB) 2195, authored by Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park), to require the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to quantify the amount of greenhouse gas emissions, associated with the leakage of gas into the atmosphere, during the production, processing, and transportation of natural gas that is imported into the state from out-of-state sources.
SACRAMENTO —Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed Assembly Bill (AB) 2485, authored by Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park), which will prohibit local inspection officials from being accompanied by a person with a potential financial interest in the outcome of the inspection of commercial properties or businesses.
SACRAMENTO – Today, the Senate Committee on Appropriations approved five bills authored by Assemblymember Ed Chau (D–Monterey Park). The bills include efforts to safeguard consumer information from data breaches, to implement reasonable regulations for the use of digital pills, to require that retailers carry out age verification checks, to protect consumers from false and deceptive spam emails, and to bolster California’s cybersecurity and election infrastructure.

Brown Jr. signed Assembly Bill (AB) 375, authored by Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park), Senator Bob Hertzberg (D-Van Nuys), and Senator Bill Dodd (D-Napa), the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, which will ensure that consumers enjoy choice and transparency in the treatment of their personal information when accessing the Internet.
