AB 95 – Postsecondary education: Coordinating Commission for Education in California
Establishes the California Education Interagency Council to evaluate workforce and economic changes in the state, integrate and align education and employment systems, maximize funding impact, support adult skill development, coordinate regional education and workforce needs, and serve as a forum for discussions of intersegmental and cross-sector policy issues.
AB 323 – Strong Workforce Program: work-based learning opportunities
Authorizes the California Community Colleges Strong Workforce Program funds to be used to provide support to students, employers, or both, for paid work-based learning.
AB 413 – Department of Housing and Community Development: guidelines: translation
Requires the Department of Housing and Community Development to review and translate guidelines into any non-English language, where the language is spoken by a substantial number of non-English speaking people.
AB 467 – Open meetings: teleconferences: neighborhood councils
Extends, to January 31, 2030, the authorization for neighborhood councils in the City of Los Angeles to use alternative teleconferencing.
AB 695 – California Community Colleges Access and Continuity for Deported Students Act
Authorizes California Community College students who have been deported from the United States to continue their education online.
AB 714 – California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009: exemptions: commercial driving licenses
Requires all heavy truck driving education programs that provide any training or curriculum for Class A, B, or C commercial driving licenses, regardless of the $2,500 monetary threshold, to be certified by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education.
AB 731 – Pupil instruction: dual enrollment: College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnerships
Makes a number of changes to the CCAP program in order to remove barriers for high school students to participation in Dual Enrollment.
AB 775 – Behested payments: reporting
Updates the process and deadline for filing behested payment reports by requiring behested payment reports to be filed directly with the Fair Political Practices Commission using their electronic filing system.
AB 805 – Postsecondary education: college and career programs
Establishes the Career Apprenticeship Bridge Program to coordinate and establish apprenticeships for opportunity youth from 16 to 24 years of age.
AB 893 – Housing development projects: objective standards: campus development zone
Streamlines approvals of mixed-income housing development on certain commercially zoned properties within a one-half mile radius of California State University, University of California, and California Community Colleges campuses, and expands eligibility for affordable units to lower income students, faculty, and staff.
AB 945 – Density Bonus Law: incentives and concessions: green housing developments
Requires a city or county to grant additional incentives to applicants who proposes green housing developments.
AB 988 – Pupil instruction: dual enrollment: College and Career Access Pathways partnerships: task force
Establishes the Dual Enrollment Framework Task Force to develop recommendations for the establishment and implementation of a statewide duel enrollment framework.
AB 1028 – Community colleges: part-time faculty
Requires the procedure for terminating a community college temporary employee to comply with the provisions of a local collective bargaining agreement.
AB 1155 – Postsecondary education: intersegmental collaboration and coordination
Requires all law schools, beginning August 1, 2026, to allow students to receive both compensation and academic course credit concurrently from an externship.
AB 1217 – Public postsecondary education: admissions standards and criteria
Requests the University of California and requires of the California State University to align its admission and curriculum requirements with the content adopted by the State Board of Education by January 1, 2028.
AB 1287 – Beer: labeling: temporary licensing
Clarifies requirements for the labeling of beer, prohibiting a licensee from identifying one product and selling something different to a consumer.
ACR 40 – Student financial aid: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) data
Denounces any plans of mass deportations that would disrupt a student’s education and calls on the California Legislature to ensure all students and their families are able to access college financial aid, regardless of immigration status.
HR 8 – 2025 Lunar New Year
Declares January 29, 2025 as the beginning of the 2025 Lunar New Year, the year of the Wood Snake.
HR 35 – Asian & Pacific Islander American Heritage Month
Declares the month of May 2025 as Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Month, recognizing the achievements, history, and contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans.
HR 38 – Brain Tumor Awareness Month
Declares May 2025 as Brain Tumor Awareness Month.
