(Alhambra, CA) -- California State Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) hosted a joint hearing of the Assembly Committee on Housing and Community Development and the Assembly Committee on Banking and Finance in Alhambra to discuss the status of the "Keep Your Home California" (KYHC) program. KYHC was designed to help California homeowners in distress who are dealing with underwater mortgages, unemployment or other financial issues. As Chair of the Committee on Housing and Community Development, Assemblymember Chau wants to ensure that California homeowners are getting the help they need.
"Despite some recovery in the economy, many homeowners are still struggling to make mortgage payments. The purpose of the hearing was to identify any barriers or opportunities to improve the program and assist more homeowners," said Assemblymember Chau.
Assemblymember Chau was also joined by other legislators, including Assemblymember Roger Dickinson (D-Sacramento), chair of the Assembly Committee on Banking and Finance. Learn more in this Assembly Access Video.
