SACRAMENTO – Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez today announced that he has appointed newly elected Assemblymember Ed Chau (D-Alhambra) to the following Assembly Committees: Banking and Finance; Housing and Community Development; Judiciary; Labor and Employment; and Rules.

"I am honored by these appointments," said Assemblymember Chau. "The Judiciary Committee will give me the opportunity to apply my background as an attorney to focus on numerous policy areas that are important to the lives of my constituents, such as combating human trafficking and improving child and family courts, among others."

"I will also be a strong voice for my constituents in the Committees on Banking and Finance, Housing and Community Development, and Labor and Employment, as we continue to discuss California's economic recovery and find ways to further strengthen the state's depressed housing market and employment trends. As a member of the Rules Committee, I will exercise sound judgment in my responsibility to ensure the efficient conduct of the legislative and administrative affairs of the Assembly."

Assemblymember Chau represents the 49th Assembly District, which includes the Cities of Alhambra, Arcadia, El Monte, Montebello, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, South El Monte, and Temple City.
