Vows to prioritize legislative efforts to improve economy, education
(SACRAMENTO) - Ed Chau (D-Monterey Park) was sworn in as the Assemblymember for the 49th Assembly District, comprised of the communities of Alhambra, Arcadia, El Monte, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, Temple City and portions of Montebello and South El Monte. The ceremony was held on the Assembly Floor at the State Capitol.
“My colleagues and I are ready to hit the ground running as we work together to create jobs and ensure that students in the state receive a top-notch education,” said Chau. “Good schools lead to good jobs, so it is fundamental that we recognize that that these two issues are closely intertwined and both must be addressed for California to continue its path toward renewed prosperity.”
Chau, a former Montebello School Board Member and small business owner, also served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
